WELL, THE SUMMER VOLUMES CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE PROVINCE. THIS IS MAKING IT HARD TO HOLD THE MARKET WHERE IT SHOULD BE BECAUSE FEEDLOTS ARE NOT GETTING ENOUGH FEEDERS TO FREIGHT THE CATTLE TO THE FEEDLOT ECONOMICALLY. THERE ARE STILL LOTS OF COWS AND BULLS MOVING. THIS IS A HARD ONE TO FIGURE OUT! DID PRODUCERS LOSE THIS MANY CALVES THIS SPRING OR WERE THESE COWS OPEN LAST FALL AND NOT PREG TESTED!? HOWBEIT, IT IS PULLING THE COW MARKET DOWN A BIT. THERE WERE NOT ENOUGH FEEDERS TO SET A TREND IN THE MARKET SO I DID NOT QUOTE. THERE STILL SEEMS TO BE INTEREST IN COW CALF PAIRS BUT EVEN THIS MARKET IS NOT AS HIGHJ AS IT WAS. VJV WANTS TO WELCOME A NEW BULL AND COW BUYER, CHILLIWACK MEATS, REPRESENTED BY LONG TIME BUYER ALBERT BETHEL. THIS PROCESSOR WILL BE SITTING ON VJV MARKETS FROM NOW ON HELPING TO STRENGTHEN VJV MARKETS AND THE DEMAND FOR GOOD ALBERTA BEEF. WE LOOK FORWARD TO A LONG, LASTING WORKING RELATIONSHIP.
